THE
WATERJET FOR EVERYONE
The age-old
force of water and innovative S.M.R.E. technology,
combined to create an innovative and revolutionary system
for automatic CNC cutting
H2O
MICROJET-CUT
S.M.R.E.
is pleased to present its range of H2O MICROJET CUT machines
using very high pressure pure water jet cutting technology.
This range of machines confirms S.M.R.E.’s policy of
placing innovative and revolutionary technology within reach
of everyone. This attitude, consolidated over the years, is
clearly noticeable in the development of this range of technological
systems designed to be simple to use and with a correct price/quality
ratio. These systems transform water into an accurate and
effective cutting tool that enables amazing results on innumerable
materials.
With
this range we wanted to create machines dedicated to processing
materials that are difficult to manage with conventional systems.
The advantages of cutting with pure high-pressure water are
innumerable, and enable cuts that are extremely precise to
be made, leaving the physical characteristics of the material
being cut unchanged.
Nowadays
WATERJET technology is well-known and used in several fields
for cutting an infinite number of materials even with remarkable
mechanical characteristics such as steel, aluminium, marble,
rubber, sponge, foam, plastics, fabrics, leather and many
other materials.
The cutting technology can be broken down into two categories:
cutting with PURE WATER and cutting with ABRASIVES. The difference
between the two systems is substantial and they should not
be mistaken for one another,
This range has been designed and optimised for cutting with
pure water.
CUTTING
WITH PURE WATER
With this technology it is possible to have a machine that
is easy to use, clean and that cuts with a water jet the size
of a hair. It is therefore possible to cut delicate materials
that are difficult to process, reducing contact of the water
with the material to a minimum. In this way it is possible
to carry out the machining without wetting the product excessively.
This technology can be used to cut the most unexpected materials
with impeccable results and decimal precision.
FAQ
What is the difference between cutting with pure water
and cutting with the addition of abrasives?
The difference is substantial. Cutting with pure water does
not cause soiling. The cut is very fine and does not lead
to excessive wear of the cutting nozzles. It is easy to manage
and the item is not submerged in water.
Cutting with the addition of abrasives has the great advantage
of cutting materials that it would be impossible to cut with
any other systems such as, by way of example, marble, stone,
very thick steel and many other materials. This method, however,
requires complicated machinery that is therefore far more
expensive to use and to purchase.
Does
the jet of pure water wet the material being cut very much
?
No. The jet is as fine as a hair and the quantity of water
expelled is very small, generally speaking less than one litre
per minute. This means that very little water touches the
material while cutting it.
How thick is the cut ?
With pure water the cut is very fine, only a few tenths of
a millimetre. The diameter can be increased or decreased simply
by changing the nozzles.
What
thicknesses can be cut ?
Depending on the material in question, thicknesses of up to
15 cm can be cut.
Do
I have to install a tank containing a large quantity of water
on the machine?
No. Cutting with pure water does not need a store of water
to maintain the power of the jet. The machine looks like a
normal cutting plotter.
Is
a WATERJET machine with pure water expensive to use?
No. With this technology the machine uses a very small quantity
of water and produces limited wear of the parts for generating
the high pressure. The relationship between cost and productivity
is competitive.
